Meet the Owners!

Rafa, my special boy was born in 2013. I would have never known the wonderful world of special need kids if it was not for him. He taught me much love and dedication in this journey of neuro-diversity acceptance. However, as loving as he is, it was such a challenge for him to be socially engaged with other kids. He was always the “odd one” who didn’t process his senses like everyone else. I knew I had to do something to build the bridge for him with the world.

I am grateful I stumbled onto the We Rock the Spectrum Corporate Office in Malaysia, and it was just by chance! The grand launch was just making headlines in the news. So I charged on to meet Rahmah Mahmood, one of the owners of Malaysia’s franchise and from there on it was history. I brought my precious boy, Rafa, to the gym and instantly realized how my other typically developing kids fell in love with the gym, too. It really showed me how an all-inclusive setting has been severely lacking here in Malaysia. Most kids on the spectrum only frequent their therapist sessions, but there isn’t a safe space to enjoy themselves like other kids do!

All the sweat and tears into bringing this dream place to my local community is finally coming true! I am an accountant by profession, but the chance to develop this wonderful sensory gym has brought me more satisfaction in life than I’ve ever known. The thought of having the opportunity to help these wonderful kids feel they belong and are accepted will continue to drive my passion in developing We Rock the Spectrum for the community in Taman Melawati Mall and the surrounding Kuala Lumpur area. Our doors will always be open to kids of all abilities and there is never a need to say “I’m sorry” when you are having a ROCKIN’ time here!
